They have the right look, but there are defects that detract from the grips. Poorly checkered is some spots, with a dent in one of the diamonds. Would not consider buying again, unless they were cheaper and I needed a beater pair to age.

Returned. Way to dark and the fit and finish work was terrible like they were rushing to get them banged out. Ate the shipping both ways ta boot.

I have a Colt reproduction 1911 of the WW1 1918 produced gun. The grips that came with the gun are the modern Colt double diamond grip and look ok but don't really make the gun look authentic. The Herrett grips make the gun look exactly like the photos of original 1918 era WW1 1911 pistols. Very well made and fit perfectly. I highly recommend them.

High Quality, Perfect Look, Fit and Feel 11/08/2015
Was looking to give an early Parkerized Colt Model 1991A1 a more 'vintage' Service Pistol appearance. The factory grips (checkered black rubber w/Colt logo in center) were excellent but just didn't have the look I wanted. I have it now. Also bought the 100-006-692WB Hayes Brown Nylon grips of the WWII (no 'Diamond') style. Exceptionally pleased with both sets. The Herretts are crisply checkered and nicely stained but a bit pricey compared to the very low cost of the Hayes set. Either way you go, I can highly recommend both. The 1991A1 looks (and feels) exceptionally good with either.
