This set of three tough polypropylene trays stack inside the MTM .50 caliber ammo cans, turning it into an organized tool box with 22 compartments of various sizes. Finger tabs help you remove and replace the trays, and fold neatly when the trays are stacked. Trays will also fit other .50 caliber ammo can, even military-style metal cans, with interior dimensions of 11" x 5.5".

Good idea, poor execution (30/03/2015)

This is a useful accessory for storing multiple small items and carrying them to the range. The problem is that most of the tray compartments are too small for the sorts of things that would be commonly stored and carried around in an ammo box. The worst tray is the one with 12 compartments. They are so small that only items like screwdriver bits or dummy cartridges will fit, and I donât need that many compartments for that sort of thing in a range box. And whatâs worse, the compartments are so small and deep that itâs difficult to reach in and remove the contents, especially if the compartment contains multiple items.

It would be much more useful if most of the compartments were large enough for things like screwdriver handles, small hammers, and other items that are likely to be used at the range or other âfieldâ locations. Another thing that manufacturers of storage products like this should do is make them a light color so that small items are easier to see, especially in poor light.

The pros are that the trays fit well but without being difficult to insert and remove. Thereâs a little extra room to close the can lid as well for items that stick up just a bit.
