Excellent Bullet for Taurus Judge (28/05/2013)

This is one of a very few bullets that give acceptable accuracy--say 3-4 inches for 5 rested shots at 25 yards--from the Taurus Judge/Public Defender. This 45/410 revolver typically has 0.462" cylinder throats and a soft lead 0.454" bullet like this one, loaded long, is needed to center in the bore. Excellent High Performance Bullet (21/04/2014)

These Hornady swaged bullets come with a bit of Carnauba powder sprinkled over them. Okay for bullseye shooting at up to 750fps but not much else.

I put about a third of a teaspoon of Johnson's Paste Wax (the brown type that has carnauba - not the new type without carnauba) into a 1 quart ziploc bag and slowly, gently, carefully roll about a hundred of the bullets in the bag with the paste wax. The wax gets evenly dispersed in about 2 minutes of rolling.

I then pour the bullets out onto a paper towel, separate them and let them dry. When they are thoroughly dry they become MAGIC, and shoot at up to about 1100fps without leading, and with phenomenal accuracy.

These bullets feed flawlessly even in 100 year old 1911's.

Good Bullet (17/06/2012)

These are good bullets, but not great. I've used them in the .44 Magnum at around 850 fps and they lead the bore at that velocity. Also, the powdered lubricant is pretty messy while loading and builds up in the seater die. They do however, produce good accuracy.

Good bullet to practice with (18/12/2013)

I use this Hornady 240 gr. SWC for .44 Mag target shooting, usually knocking over bowling pins. Easy to load, much more economical and far more painless to shoot compared to jacketed .44 bullets. I never found a need to load .44 Specials for target practicing with my S&W 629. I found that my regular .44 Mag brass with these bullets works just fine. These lead bullets are lubed well enough to prevent any leading so long as you follow the Hornady manual powder recommendations for max loads. W231 is my favorite powder in my reloads using these bullets as well as Win. Large Pistol primers. Keep in mind that .44 Mag rounds still require a heavy crimp even when using lead bullets.

Excellent bullet (16/09/2011)

This is a quite accurate bullet in front of 3.9 grs of Unique. It doesn't lead the barrels of my S&W 19 or Ruger SP101. It's also quite economical--even more so than my favorite plated bullets for .38

Extremely poor quality and performance (25/06/2016)

Horrible product. No quality control and obviously a low end product. All projectiles varied by as much as .356-,360" Accuracy was absolutely horrendous with all combinations of powders, etc. I wish I had my money back since its pretty much useless. All it does is leave the barrel of your gun. Where it ends up is like spinning a top. Very disappointed with this Hornady product. I guess I can melt em down and use to make fishing weights. Don't know about the other positive reviews. Take your chances if you buy.
