The Sinclair Case Neck Micrometer is built around a Starrett micrometer head capable of measuring in .0001inch increments. This tool is designed specifically for handloaders to accurately measure case neck wall thickness. The micrometer head and anvil are completely adjustable so the handloader can measure the neck wall thickness right up to the junction of the case neck and shoulder. These adjusting features, plus the ratchet control built into the micrometer head, allow the user to zero the tool to suit their own feel and their own needs. The tool is mounted to a stainless steel base and allows the handloader to have both hands free to use when measuring brass. The micrometer head is mounted in an anodized aluminum frame, and the anvil is made of stainless steel. This micrometer will work for .17 caliber cases and larger. The tool comes pre-zeroed. MADE IN THE U.S.A.

Excellent Tool for Measuring Necks(22/02/2012)
Simple to use and repeatable, reliable accuracy! I had a previous case neck gauge that used pilot stops, but would not measure 6.5X47 Lapua brass effectively due to the mandrel size and the small flash holes for this cartridge. I sold the previous tool for this Sinclair model and glad I did. With the ability to measure .0001, this micrometer will reveal the consistency of your case necks, whether turned or un-turned. Can simply add small washers to the mandrel to measure the same point on each case neck if needed. 5 stars!!!
Top 3 tool on bench(08/03/2015)
This is one of my best and most consistant reloading tools on my bench. It is much easier to use this Starret mic/tool as it applys the exact repeatable tension every time to .0001. It is also very fast to hold in one hand and then slip the neck between the anvils and turn the top mic knob until it clicks. You get the exact same tension each time. You won't go back to using a standard hand held mic for measuring neck walls.
Fine instrument. No documentation(08/11/2016)
I will use this to measure neck thickness as is most likely the case for everybody.
Pros: Precision Engineering. Very high quality five stars without hesitation.
Con: just one really. Mine did not come with a manual. Fortunately I already know how to use a Vernier scale so in my case didn't matter that much. The video doesn't show any of that.
