Easy to use hand-held tool is for serious AR-15 shooters who want to quickly eradicate the carbon buildup on the bolt tail that’s difficult to remove with conventional cleaning methods. Helps ensure efficient gas system function and reliable cycling. This hard-working, stand-alone tool does the whole job – no need for brushes, solvents, or breakdown sprays. Just remove the bolt from your rifle and insert the bolt tail into scraper, then turn the scraper clockwise to remove the carbon. The comfortable, contoured handle provides excellent leverage. A few gentle turns should be all that’s needed for the bolt tail to be clean and ready for action.

Another good idea but still not perfect (16/08/2010)

Doesn't really scrape the bolt tail too close by itself. If you place a .30 patch over the bolt's tail (soaked in solvent) and then push that patch over the tail with this tool, turn the tool on the tail a few times, you'll be in business. Does a decent job getting the carbon off like that. If you want the bolt cleaner after using this tool, it should be easy to get the remaining crud off.

Excellent for what it's for (21/11/2010)

Much like the bolt carrier scraper, this product is excellent for removing the big chunks of carbon that can foul your bolt and cause jamming.

not a bad tool (02/09/2012)

I bought one of these about a year ago and have used it many times. It was not desingned to scrape metal to metal as this would remove finish, and possibly damage your weapon's parts. If you are like me and occaisonally buy the steel cased russian ammo, for the simple purpose of blasting to your heart's content on the cheap, this is a handy tool. for those who put their weapon to the test with lots of heavy shooting this is a handy tool. for the individual who may skip a cleaning or two again a handy tool. for the ultra picky with super clean handloads and white gloves don't get your hopes up, it only gets things started by taking off heavy buildup the rest is up to you.
