Provides Strong, Reliable Sling Attachment

Two-piece clamp with single cross-bolt secures adapter to Picatinny/Weaver-style handguard rails so you have a front sling attachment point. MCTAR-06 has pivoting, 1¼" wide swivel for direct sling attachment. Rubber coating on swivel prevents noisy, metal-to-metal contact. MCTAR-07 includes a fixed, dome-shaped stud that accepts your own, standard quick-detach swivel. MCTAR-08 includes a 11⁄4" wide, 360º rotating, push-button swivel for rapid sling removal. MCTAR-08HD has heavy duty base and swivel that stands up to extreme tactical operations. 1¼" wide, quick-detach swivel limits travel to prevent sling wrapping yet allows necessary movement.

SPECS: Bases - 6061 aluminum, mil-spec hardcoat anodized, matte black; steel setscrew, matte black oxide. MCTAR-08HD - 7⁄8" (2.2cm) long x 13⁄16" (3cm) wide. Swivels/Studs - Steel, black finish. Swivels accept slings up to 11⁄4" (3.2cm) wide.

Heavy Duty off set QD sling Adapter (09/03/2011)

The offset feature of this sling mount was exactly what I was looking for. It allows the rifle to lay against body without canting. It is solid and well made. The QD loop has stops to keep the sling from twisting and turning. You can also designate the angle of QD loop in relation to your sling just by locking the QD in a different position.

For rail in front sight post of AR 15 (06/02/2016)

I'm have an AR 15 rifle and use a Magpul MS3 sling for single/dual point carry. I have a 2 sided rail mounted in the front sight post and have had a heck of a time finding a QD swivel that doesn't encroach on the sight picture. This hunk of well made metal was just the ticket. I was a little surprised that the swivel doesn't move 360 but found after using it a while found that it is actually better that it does not move, there is maybe 20 degrees of movement form whatever position you set the QD in. The limiter is built into the mount not the QD.

Milspec Quality QD Solution (08/05/2011)

Mounted on M4. Only rotates 180 so it keeps sling correctly orientated. Very heavy duty, perhaps even overkill (every ounce counts!). Could easily be used on M249 or other GPMG due to strength. Release requires firm push to activate, which is great!

Just put some loc-tite on the hex screw, but then again, I loc-tite everything, and you're ready to go. It's very sturdy and well made.

I use this on my AR and it is excellent. Stays in place when you need it to, yet easily removed when you want it off.

The unit is soild. I put a little break free on it for lubrication and it ran silently.

I mounted it on my M4 type carbine's for end as a side mount, I used it with a Blue Force gear Vickers sling. The sling has a tendancy to cause the swivel to turn 180. It's a bit annoying.

I give it 5 stars, because it fit and held wonderfully. I was doing drills that caused me to go prone and sprint. No problems with the mount. During instalation, the screw tightened properly and I didnt have to worry about stripping the threads in the aluminum. MI makes quality products.

Works but pivot pin fell out (12/11/2011)

Exactly what I needed except the pivot pin fell out which pretty much made the mount useless. Midwest is owned by some good people so I'm sure they'll make it right.

Looked Good (13/07/2014)

I purchased this product for my rifle I carry in Afghanistan. Planned to keep the product for my rifle at home when my tour was over. Problem is, the pin fell out very quickly and I don't have parts to repair it, nor should I have too.

Functional and Economical (30/12/2009)

I use this with the excellent VTAC Adjustable Two Point Sling (100-002-868) and an Uncle Mikes Sling Swivel. It takes up very little real estate on the rail, it's very light weight, and does exactly what I need it to do: provide a sturdy sling attachment point. Economical, practical, functional, and reliable.

Midwest Stud Sling Adapter (08/04/2010)

I use this to hold the front sling swivel, and sling, to my M&P 15-22. It is a great design though it appears minimalistic from the catalog photo. It is a two piece clamping design so one can add it to the rail from the side rather than the rail ends required of one piece designs. While small, it does an excellent job in anchoring the front of the sling to the rifle rail. It looks good, is well made and is perfect for my application.
