Nice product!(02/10/2009)
Hard to find quality US made tools for sight adjustment anymore. This is a robust tool, and compact enough for take along.
ok tool but great customer service(20/10/2009)
so the first time i used it one of the teeth broke off and the rest got bent up real bad. i emailed Brownells and they let me exchange it for a new one. [...] im not sure if my sights are a little tight or the tool is a little weak. my new one works great, i just have to be gentle with it.
A2 sight wrench(05/01/2010)
Just used this wrench to set the sights on my Magpul BIUS. Worked great. The teeth seems a little thin, but still a value at this price.
Limited Use(27/04/2010)
I'm sure it is perfect for most A2 sights. It absolutely will not adjust Troy HK style BUIS. The shaft is too short to reach the base. I wish there had been a review addressing this before I bought it, but I'm not going to say that it is a bad product. I will keep it for other sights.
Too Short!(15/10/2010)
I'm sure this works fine on most AR sights, but not my new A.R.M.S. 71F front sight. The narrow barrel is too short to reach the detent because the knurled body hits the sight blades and stops right there. It just needs to be a bit longer, or the bevel at the shoulder needs to be narrower to make it a useful tool for some of the newer sight styles currently on the market.
Yes!finally a front site tool that works(07/02/2011)
Using another tool I could not lower my front post site any more..with this... 3 whole revolutions more! Time to go see if now my rifle isn't shooting low! I doubt it will last for long as the teeth are small..but it worked this time, hopefully it will have a long life.
Works good(17/11/2011)
Works good, adjusts the sight, and it will fit inside Brownell's AR-15 buttstock pouch cleaning kit, which is handy if you have that kit and an A2 buttstock.
Not strong enough(27/03/2012)
This tool is very convenient for adjusting that pain in the rear front site post, however, the prongs keep breaking. I have gone threw two of these so far. Some broke off while adjusting, the others in the padded compartment in my range bag.
No go on pre-ban Bushmasters(04/08/2012)
May work for most people but on three different pre-ban A2 Bushmasters it just did fit. The tool's front sight cylinder had the proper number of pins but was too small in diameter for the pins to fit into the notches on the front sight post.
Worked Perfect(13/08/2012)
Recently purchased a new rifle with A2 front sights and I could not get them to budge the way I was taught in the Army. My frustration at not being able to get my rifle zeroed with under 18 rounds was angering me! I even tried holding the detent down with a small nail and trying to turn the post with my leatherman and no movement. So I purchased this tool and within five minutes of it being opened from the plastic bag and nine rounds later...3 holes in the ring of the 25m target with iron sights and only resting on my ammo can in the prone position. The folks that are breaking these things must be holding their mouth wrong or something. It works great!
Works but it is a precise fit(12/09/2012)
The first time I tried to use the A2 tool I was at the range with three pre-ban A2 style Bushmasters and couldn't get it to fit the front post. I got frustrated, gave up and used a punch. HOWEVER, on a return trip with the same Bushmasters a little more patience proved the tool does fit properly. In fact it worked just fine, it's just a more precise fit than I was expecting the first go round. I expected a sloppy fit but it is a precision fit. Works better than a punch or unfired round. It left no marks, scars or mars. Feel much better about the purchase now. Four stars simply because I think this may be a case where a little slop is needed otherwise it's a five.
save your money(12/09/2012)
It does not depress the detent at all. If you depress the detent with something else, you can than adjust the sight with this tool, but needing an aditional tool kind of defeats the purpose
A well made, useful and useable tool(27/02/2014)
Because of the low ratings, I almost did not buy this tool but I am glad I took a chance. The tool is well made, machined from a solid chunk of steel. It fit perfectly in my front site, although because of some comments I knew the fit would be snug and allowed myself a few seconds to find the proper alignment. I removed the site and replaced it literally within seconds, unlike when using a separate tool to depress the detent. It also allows sufficient "feel" to make adjustments one click at a time, and so makes adjusting the front site at the range easier.
Fits my DDM4v1 stock sights perfectly(20/12/2014)
The sight wrench fits the stock iron sights on my DDM4v1 very well and allows me to adjust the sights without having to use two hands! The rifle is brand new and the sights were not movable with the tried and true bullet method so this tool was the perfect item for the job.
works like a charm(18/01/2015)
Given the reviews I'd read, I was unsure this thing would work. Like others I couldn't get a bullet to hold down the release button and turn the post on my Rock River A2, but on my first attempt, this wrench worked like a charm.
poor quality(24/08/2011)
one prong on the front sight was bent before it was even out of the package. When I attempted to straighten, it broke off.
You want the other AR15 Sight Wrench(03/12/2011)
The diameter of the 4 pronge end of the wrench was too wide to fit in my Bushmaster A2 upper.
Might work with a little grinding(16/02/2012)
The elevation end works the front sight OK. The windage end does not have enough prong length to retract the index pin. gonna have to get the Dremel out...
Avoid this tool(04/05/2012)
I don't know how this got into Brownell's catalog. It is so flimsy. The second time I went to adjust my front sight, one of the little nubs broke off in the assembly. You can get a better result by depressing the detente pin with an 8penny nail and turning the post with the eraser end of a common pencil.
ar15 sight tool(31/05/2012)
the four nubs on the tool are to short to adjust my yankee hill front sights..would not work on anybodys else at the range either..a very poor product
a-1 a-2 sight wrench(08/01/2016)
bought this a-2 wrench to adjust front sights. barrel part of wrench
will not even get close enough to turn the sight. can not even push the detent down with it. it works in there video, but what they sent me was a waste of my money. don't waste yours
