Very Compact (14/10/2013)

I'm a casual reloader. I've also a small table that I work from, so this fits the bill. In my use to this point, I've used h110, zip, and imr3031. It has metered very well these, and most of the time it measures .1 gr low, when not spot on - and never over. I've been cleaning it per the manual by removing the threaded tube to clean it out, but I think that I'll just tilt the unit to clean this tube of residual powder, and I think folks could make the job of cleaning simpler this way. Bottom line is that I do recommend it if you need an accurate, compact auto dispenser with basic feature.

I reload for competitive shooting and testing new rifle builds. The Gen 6 is very fast and accurate. I use the grams mode quite often and it easily measures to the nearest 1/100th. Not necessary to for everyone to measure that close. The machine is very easy to clean so you can change powders quickly. Lyman home run.

Lyman Gen6 (04/02/2015)

Very accurate. After 250 loads, never more than 0.1 grains off. Loading IMR4064. Instructions easy to understand. Took about 10 minutes to read instructions and get the unit ready to go. The auto load function is very nice.

Poor Choice (21/12/2015)

Persistently under throws the charge by .1 gr. 40 of 50 under, 7 spot on, 3 over. Touch screen at on/off "button" needs to be pressed lightly at several angles and places on the button before it will turn on. Much harder to clean than other dispensers. Calibration difficult to get set. There are NO electronics on, over or under my powder bench (which is in another room away from my press, etc.) Bench is dead flat. No reason other than a poorly made product explains to me why it will calibrate .1 grains away from the calibration weight.

Other than being lightweight and having a small footprint, I see nothing but bad with this machine. Sinclair stands behind its guarantee, for which they are to be commended. It is going back for a full refund. I just ordered (from Sinclair) an RCBS Chargemaster combo to replace this Lyman mistake.

Accurate to .1 of a grain (17/02/2016)

I use mine for IMR powders, that dont throw well thought my Dillon powder thrower.

Allows me to keep a consistent pace loading on my single stage press. As new reloader, it is a good tool to help maintain accuracy, & consistency in loading. Easy to clean, & maintain, & use.

Not ready for prime time (18/05/2016)

I've had two of these ( returned the first one) and the both suffer from what I call erratic contols. Pressing any of the buttons is a iffy business. I frequently find myself shutting the unit off to allow me to just start over and this coupled with a tendency to randomly stop working alltogether in excess of 35 rounds reloaded makes me crazy. I love the small size and speed that it throws a charge but lately it,s started to throw +1 tenths and -3tenths,this Isn't acceptable, I,m a benchrest shooter and I weigh all my charges. Back to my big old Hornaday with its semi burnt out scale that I trust. I't,s clear lyman doesn't have it's act together with this product

Not working out of the box (08/09/2016)

I had high hopes for this product - better priced than the RCBS unit, smaller footprint and generally good reviews. The unit looked reasonably well made - for something that is totally plastic. However mine simply refused to work from the start. All it would do is display an error message. I have since learnt from Lyman that there are problems with the load cell somehow getting out of whack - perhaps due to transport shocks. Not hard to imagine that but the box was in perfect shape. Products like this will be shipped all over the place so the design ought to take that into account. Watch out for "Error 040".

Throws charges constantly (31/01/2017)

This scale constantly throws charges and constantly needs to be recalibrated or even shut off and restarted before it will function. When powder charging 100 rounds this scale needs to be recalibrated seven or eight times. As the scale warms up it also starts to display different negative weights when the powder pan is removed from the scale, up to .5 grains off. I'm not impressed with this scale and should have spent the extra money on a better scale. Lyman customer service has since taken the scale back, although shipping was at my expense.
