Exact Edge Extractor for the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22. The replacement extractor was manufactured through a EDM process to provide exact tolerances. The geometry has been changed to provide positive ejection every time. One geometry change was moving the hook .015" closer to the rim and changing the angle so that it grabs the spent casing with much more precision and control. The extractor is A2 Tool Steel and hardened to Rc 58-60 so this extractor will not wear out or round over after years of use.

Flawless. Installs in 30 seconds. Eliminates all FTE and stovepipes. Tried several types of ammo...after a thousand rounds...perfection.
The cheapest, most important fix you can give your M&P AR15 22. For $11 it will trans form your gun. Be sure to or the plunger as well. Metal instead of cheap poly stock part.
It's a commercial..it just fixed my gun.

Simple to install, although there is opportunity to send the spring and plunger flying. This hands down is the best mod for the 15-22. I was having issues with weak ejection, ultimately causing a couple of out of battery firings. I havenât had a single issue with the gun since with roughly 3-4 thousand rounds of various types of ammo.

Does aid in extraction but had a lot of light strikes because this new part was keeping the bolt from fully closing. Part was installed on a first generation rifle and S&W may have changed the shape of the extractor cut. It'll probably work fine if you took the time to fit it.

I had a major problem with jamming right from the get go with my rifle. The factory pins are terrible on this gun and I would get at least 1 round almost every clip fail to discharge. I put Anti Walk Pins and this extractor on this gun and it runs like clockwork now. This is a MUST if you have the M&P 15-22

I was getting very frustrated with constant FTE, this solved it in a big way. When I bring out the M&P 15-22 to shoot I tend to put 400+ rounds through it so I tend to use bulk ammo and we all know bulk 22 is junk but this extractor solved it just put 500 through it and not one FTE. For the price you can't go wrong. Brownells ships quick so what are you waiting for.

There is nothing wrong with the stock M&P 15-22 extractor if you always use top-quality ammunition. However, some of the less expensive bulk ammo has inconsistent rim thickness. If the rim is thin the stock extractor can't hold it firmly in the recess against the bolt face. Then the empty case slips out of position as the bolt moves rearward. The result is a failure to eject -- and a stovepipe.
The Volquartsen extractor holds even thin-rimmed cases tight within the recess against the bolt face. The result is all ammo ejects as well a top-quality ammunition. Because the extractor is inexpensive and takes less than a minute to install there's no reason not to have it. With this exactor in place the M&P 15-22 will function with all standard and high-velocity .22 long rifle ammunition.
