Ensure Mag Insertion in Stressful Situations

The Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well for GLOCK 17 GEN 3 is a high performance, purpose-built GLOCK frame magazine well. It was designed to enhance and ensure positive magazine insertion in high stress scenarios. Its sleek and ergonomic design features also provide excellent concealment and ensure minimal printing to the user's clothing. Ramp and edge geometry allow for the smooth removal of faulty or stuck magazines during reloading or immediate action events. The Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well is optimized for use with standard capacity GLOCK factory magazines, Magpul GL9® PMAGs®, and a variety of aftermarket floorplates and extensions that are available for both. Recent generations of reduced capacity (10 rd) factory GLOCK magazines have several dimensional differences which may interfere with any magazine well, including the Magpul GL Enhanced Magazine Well. Some large aftermarket floorplates may also interfere. Due to inherent variances in GLOCK frame production, if an excessively tight fit is experienced during the installation of an Enhanced Magazine Well that requires excessive force, Magpul recommend that a professional gunsmith complete the installation to mitigate the potential for frame damage. Will not work if you're using Glock backstraps, unless you are willing to modify.

Cannot stand Glock without Beavertail grip, so I dremeled mine to fit.

DANGER/RIP OFF (30/09/2018)

There are three things wrong with this product that kills any usefulness. 1) Once installed, it will eliminate any ability to strip a stuck mag. The magpul part fills the magwell so that there is no room to gab the floor plate to assist in removing the mag. You will be at the total mercy of the mag free falling. 2) once installed, you will not be able to use any aftermarket mag floor plates, not even minimal ones from Vickers 3) It is not compatible with backstraps. You can file and file away to get it to fit, but chances are that you will do a poor job and it will have thrown away $20.

Mines defective! (18/06/2017)

This unit was super easy to install, it took me less than 15 seconds. The build quality appears good, until you insert a magazine. It does NOT go in easy! You literally have to slam it in hard for the magazine to properly catch,10 magazines later my palm couldn't take it no more! The next morning I called Magpul, they're sending me a replacement unit, but they claim this is normal, ??? If the new unit works, then I will update my review.

Another GREAT product from Magpul (29/06/2017)

It's a great mag-well! I installed them on all of my Gen-3's. They take about 30 seconds to install. They do make it easier and faster to do slide-lock (emergency) reloads. My only issue was that, some of my Gen-3's were a bit older and had a cutout on the front strap of the frame. I didn't care for the gap, so I contacted Glock USA and inquired into getting new frames, without the cutout. I followed their instructions, and in less than 10 days I had new replacement frames, without the cutout. I have to say, I was very impressed with Glock's service! All is good now!
